The Becker Cannula represents a major advance in the engineering of suction instrumentation, allowing an unprecedented degree of speed and control due to a circumferential "basket" of riblike projections surrounding the opening. This unique design has been shown to facilitate the breakdown of tissue prior to aspiration without increased incidence of bleeding or other trauma. Less vacuum is required for suctioning. The smooth, rounded projections, moreover, tend to push nerves and vessels gently out of the suctioning field.

Available with a variety of shaft connections in both standard and micro sizes, the Becker Cannula has proven to be an extremely efficient instrument for a wide range of procedures including neck and facial work, aspirations of hips and buttocks, lipomas and gynecomastia.

Other advantages of the new cannula include greater feathering of the suction tract, greater ability to resect scarred tissue (as in redo lipoplasty and lipoma procedures) and the ability to resect tissues other than fat, such as breast and organized lymphedematous tissue.
