I received your letter yesterday regarding the insurance; I have to say I actually cried.

As you know, I am a double mastectomy patient and came to you on a referral from a friend, (VL). I had already had reconstruction but the nipples had dissipated and for years I was embarrassed and in pain.

When I came to see you I was down and depressed about my looks. Within minutes you had everything planned on the procedure, which took an entire 20 minutes without any pain and my self esteem has once again been restored, this is a horrible disease and you made me feel like a woman again. Not only do they look real but they feel real as well. And yes I do show them off. I am now wearing sexy bras and feel marvelous.

I wish on anyone that is going through this nightmare. Maybe it is psychological but I am no longer in pain, I feel like I look great and furthermore have quit smoking after 34 years.

Sadly the stat’s are one in seven women will develop this disease and we need a Dr. Like you. We need you!!

If there is anyway you can keep the insurance going I hope you do, there are so many of us that truly need a Dr. like you and your marvelous staff.

Sandy thanks for making this process so much easier for me. As you know I had about 18 surgeries before I saw you. Just one from you and I am complete again.

How will I ever be able to thank you for all you have done for me? My new reconstructed breasts are beautiful beyond my wildest dreams. Never did I believe for one moment that my breast cancer journey would turn out so perfectly. Dr. Becker, you have certainly made me feel complete and like a woman again. I really liked your idea for the circumareolar mastopexy. Hats off to real innovation. I can’t wait to try it.

I am also writing to ask you to consider entering your implant patients in the PSEF implant registry. This registry insures patient and surgeon confidentiality and is easy to comply with. If we can get enough surgeons to participate in this, we can have an enormous cohort of patients in case some crisis occurs. We will also learn answers to questions such as deflation rate, reoperation rate, reason for reoperation, etc. All of these were big issues when the FDA panel reviewed saline-filled implants. I would really appreciate your participation in the registry and encourage you to recruit your colleagues to participate. I am enclosing a registry form that you can copy and use. Also enclosed is the information to log on to the web site. You can enter data by fax, mail, or email. Hilton, this is important for plastic surgeons and our patients.

Dear Dr. Becker:

This is just a note to thank you and your staff for the special care you all gave me. I know a few other women who had breast implants who were only seen by their doctors a few times post-surgically. I must have been to your office 15 times following my surgery. This gave me a feeling of great trust and confidence with the outcome of my procedures.

I’m glad I was awake during surgery and I would recommend it to anyone. I was able to communicate with you, Dina and Shelly, as well as laugh a little which made me feel very comfortable and in good hands.
