Skin moisturizing creams are typically made by combining oil with water. In order to combine oil with water, an emulsifier is required. Because cream can be an ideal cultural medium for bacteria growth, it becomes necessary to add preservatives. Preservatives may have a brownish tint and odor, therefore fragrances and coloring agents are added. Fruit Acids, also known as Alpha Hydroxy Acids, are nontoxic, naturally occurring substances found in a variety of fruits such as grapes, apples and sugar cane. They are also commonly known as glycolic, citric, malic, lactic and pyruvic acids.

Glycolic acid is a thorough exfoliater. Glycolic Acid removes the outer layers of thickened or damaged skin leaving a smoother and healthier appearance. Squalane is a remarkable extract found in olive oil. It is also synthesized in the human liver, a deficiency of which results in dry skin and premature aging. Squalane is an unsaturated oil having a molecular structure similar to Vitamin A.
