INTRODUCTION:
Dr Becker is a recognized expert in fat grafting. He spent a year doing wound healing research at the Medical college of Virginia publishing several acclaimed articles. He has developed and patented important devices used to facilitate fat grafting including the Becker liposuction cannulas, the Becker Micronizer as well as absorbable scaffolds to support fat grafts. It has been shown that to ensure fat graft survival, it is important that fat cells not exceed 1mm in diameter, but at the same time contain a high concentration of stromal vascular fraction. A method of harvesting large sized fat grafts and reducing them in size to less than 1mm is described.

Dr. Becker recently presented his latest research and new techniques at the annual meeting of the International Federation for Adipose Therapeutics and Science. His innovative technique of fat grafting concentrates collagen and stem cells from the patient’s own fat and combines them with growth factors obtained from the patient’s blood. This combination of collagen and adipose-derived stem cells combined with growth factors maximizes volume and fullness for the most dramatic results.
